
Sharon Curtis, M.D.
Dr. Sharon Curtis has been board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for over 20 years. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency at Duke University and Child Fellowship at University of North Carolina.
After practicing for a few years in Atlanta, Georgia and recognizing the role other general medical conditions impact mental health, she went on to complete a post-graduate fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine in 2015.
She treats children, adolescents and adults and enjoys the challenge of caring for patients with complicated presentations.
Dr. Curtis believes in treating the whole person and incorporating complementary medicine, lifestyle, nutrition and spirituality to improve the overall well being of her patients.
Originally from Indianapolis, she returned to the area 11 years ago to be closer to home and practiced at St Francis residential program for court-ordered youth in Dyer, Indiana and Franciscan Hospital outpatient Behavioral Health before joining the practice.
She is the consulting psychiatrist at Lake County Juvenile Justice where she evaluates and treats detained and justice-involved youth. She was awarded a grant for a mental health problem-solving court for youth along with the HOPE team which is comprised of a magistrate, attorneys and probation officers. The purpose is to reduce recidivism and improve the lives and overall functioning of youth and their families where mental health conditions impact their actions leading to criminal charges.
